Course Overview

Having godfearingness (taqwa) is a prerequisite for being able to benefit from the great guidance of the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace). Take this course to learn how to have godfearingness in most of the everyday situations that you are likely to encounter in your life, such as eating halal food, proper dress, interacting with the opposite gender, guarding your gaze, investing and saving your money, and guarding your tongue.

About The Instructors:

Shaykh Abdurragmaan Khan completed the memorization of the Qur’an under Shaykh Ismail Londt at the Dar Ubaiy Institute in 2000. He then went on to graduate from the Dār al-Ulūm al-‘Arabiyyah al-Islāmiyyah in 2006, where he benefited from the school’s lecturers, specifically its founder and principal, Maulana Taha Karaan. After graduating, Shaykh Abdurragmaan served as a lecturer at the same institute from 2006 to 2015. In 2009, he established Dar al-Turath al-Islami (DTI) and continues to serve as the Director. In 2011, Shaykh Abdurragmaan co-founded the Mahabbah Foundation and was honoured to join the Fatwa Committee of the Muslim Judicial Council of South Africa in 2013. He is also an Imam at Masjid al-Rahmah, Garlendale. Shaykh Abdurragmaan received ijazah ’ammah from various luminaries, including but not restricted to: Habib Umar ibn Hafiz–a personality who affected him greatly and who has changed his relationship with Allah, Maulana Yusuf Karaan – the former Mufti of Cape Town; Habib ‘Ali al-Mashhur – the late Mufti of Tarim, Habib ‘Umar al-Jaylani – the Shafi’i Mufti of Makkah, Sayyid Ahmad bin Abi Bakr al-Hibshi, Habib Kadhim as-Saqqaf, Shaykh Mahmud Sa’id Mamduh, Maulana Abdul Hafiz al-Makki, Sh. Ala ad- Dind al-Afghani, Maulana Fazlur Rahman al-Azami and Shaykh Yahya al-Gawthani amongst others. Shaykh Abdurragmaan received ijazah in the qira’ah of Imam Kisa’i from Shaykh Idris from Malawi and is currently reciting the seven Qira’ah to Maulana Saleem Gaibie.
