Making intention after an action

Asalamu Alaikum Sheikh Yusuf. Thank you for your answers to the other questions.

I wanted to know if there are any scenarios where it would be valid to make intention after an action? Say for example someone gives away money to a poor person and then after make numerous intentions such as to please Allah, ward off His anger, please the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, follow the Sunnah, bring relief to a Muslim, to have shifa from an illness etc etc? Would the intentions be valid even if they were not present in the heart before and during the action?

Wa alaikum salaam Brother

It is very likely that Allah Most High accepts such intentions even if realized after the fact, as long as the initial action was done for the sake of Allah Most High. However, legally we cannot deem this applicable in relation to the validity of actions; the Sacred law is confined to the outward perceivable aspects it does not delve into unseen matters.
