About the text:

Samt al-Wusul is a summary of the Manar al-Anwar of Imam Nasafi, a relied upon the intermediate epitome of the principles of jurisprudence employed by Imam Abu Hanifa.

This text maps out the basic features of these principles in a very clever manner. The importance of the book comes from its being a summary of “Matn al-Manar” by Imam al-Nasafi. Al-Manar’s text on the principles of Hanafi jurisprudence gained wide acceptance and gathered the attention of later Hanafi scholars describing it as solid, comprehensive, concise and beneficial.


About the Author:

Hasan Ibn Turkhan al-Aqhisari (951-1025 AH) was a Bosnian Hanafi scholar who studied in Bosnia and Istanbul and was a judge (qadi) "qadi" during the Ottoman empire.

Imam Al-Aqhasari is one of the most prominent scholars of the Balkans who wrote in the Arabic language at the end of the sixteenth century and the beginning of the seventeenth century. He graduated from one of the Sharia schools in his native Bosnia, then continued his academic studies in Istanbul, delved into jurisprudence and Qura’nic  interpretation. He  mastered Arabic, Turkish, and Persian, then returned to his country. He established an endowment that included a mosque and a school  and he worked in the judiciary and teaching, in addition to practicing writing in various fields, and in the three languages that he mastered.
