Confusing: Where to start on the Essentials curriculum??

Aslam Alaikum, where's the best place to get some input on your courses? I have enrolled in the Essentials, but have a question on where to get started.
Following the curriculum steps - there's at least 3 pdfs and a few books to download before the instructors even start. Are we supposed to study these texts before starting the course?

Example, all these (and MORE) resources are listed in Sections 1 and 2 - and they are fairly time-consuming, are we supposed to self-study these first?
- 01 al-Kharida al-Bahiyya Translation Faraz Rabbani.pdf
- 02 Imam Dardir Biography.pdf
- 03 The Beliefs of the Spiritual Masters of the Salaf - from Qushayris Risala.pdf
- 04 Principles in Calling to Allah.pdf
- 05 http://www.masud.co.uk/ISLAM/misc/ghazali1.htm (This looks to be fairly heavy book)

AND all this before the welcome video!!!???
Appreciate your clarification.

I think the translation and the biography is enough but when you complete this course then read the other sources

Wa Alaikum Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu,

Thank you for reaching out and expressing your question regarding the SeekersGuidance courses. We appreciate your enthusiasm to engage with the material and maximize your learning experience. Allow me to provide you with the necessary clarification.

In SeekersGuidance courses, the provided resources such as PDFs and books are supplemental materials that complement the course content. While it is beneficial to engage with these resources to enhance your understanding, they are not mandatory prerequisites before starting the course.

The primary focus should be on the course itself, which includes the video lessons and any required readings specifically mentioned by the instructor. These course materials will be covered and explained in the lessons, allowing for a structured and comprehensive learning experience. The supplemental resources listed in Sections 1 and 2 are intended to provide additional depth and context to the subject matter but are not compulsory for completing the course.

It is recommended to prioritize the course content and follow the instructor's guidance as they provide a curated learning path. As you progress through the course, the instructor will guide you on which resources to engage with and when it would be most beneficial to study them.

If you have specific questions or need further clarification about the course materials, it is recommended to utilize the discussion forums or reach out to the instructors or teaching assistants for guidance. They are there to support your learning journey and provide assistance whenever needed.

We hope this clarification helps you navigate the course effectively. May Allah grant you success in your studies and bless you with beneficial knowledge. If you have any further inquiries, please don't hesitate to ask.
