The Circulation of the Sun

As-Salamu 'Alaykum, Shaykh

I am aware that the following query does not concern the lesson, but it does concern belief, so I do hope it will deserve an answer.

It is mentioned in sahih al-Bukhari that the when the sun goes under the Earth, it prostrates to God's Throne. Furthermore, it is mentioned in the Qur'an that the sun and moon have orbits.

Modern science shows that the sun does not orbit the Earth, so how do we reconcile these two?

Best Regards,

Mohsin

I never use science to reconcile Islam. Rather, I use Islam to reconcile science. If science disagrees with Islam I discard the science. If Islam disagrees with the science I discard the science.

The way to reconcile the two is by asking how can creation claim to know more than the Creator.

السلام عليكم و رحمة الله و بركاته

I can’t comment on the meaning of ayat and Hadith, but I would like to point out that the Sun is in orbit around a black hole in the center of our galaxy, so the ayat does not in anyway contradict science.
