as salaamu 'alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu.

-What is Allah doing right now (His Actions), if He already created and decreed all matters in Eternity? Is this question absurd? Please help me understand.

Wa ‘alaykum as-salam wa rahmatuLlahi wa barakatuh

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of all the worlds, and may His peace and blessings be upon His final Messenger, Muhammad, and his family and companions.

The query you have presented is indeed a profound theological contemplation. To fathom the essence of Allah's actions in the present moment, despite His prior creation and decree of all matters in eternity, it is necessary to delve into the depths of Islamic theology.

Primarily, we must acknowledge that Allah, the Most High, transcends time and space constraints. He exists beyond the limitations of our temporal reality. Allah is eternal, devoid of commencement or conclusion, and He encompasses all moments concurrently. His knowledge encompasses everything that has transpired, is transpiring, and will transpire. This understanding is substantiated by numerous Quran verses and the Prophet Muhammad's teachings (peace be upon him).

The act of creation and decree by Allah transpired in eternity, preceding the creation of time and space as we comprehend it. However, this should not lead one to assume that Allah remains inactive in the present moment. Although His divine decree encompasses all, it is crucial to recognise that Allah's actions are not confined to a specific temporal framework. His actions are ceaseless, encompassing the entirety of creation and manifesting in various forms.

Allah's ongoing actions become apparent through His sustenance and governance of the universe. He perpetually upholds and maintains the existence of all that He has created. He orchestrates the rising of the sun and the descent of rain and ensures the harmonious functioning of the cosmos. Additionally, Allah's actions are discernible through His response to the supplications and prayers of His servants. He answers the call of those who sincerely turn to Him, bestowing upon them blessings and guidance.

Moreover, Allah's actions manifest in the unfolding of events and the divine wisdom that underlies them. While Allah has decreed all matters, He has also endowed human beings with free will within the boundaries of His divine decree. Our actions and choices are within our purview, yet they operate within the framework of Allah's decree. Hence, the consequences of our choices and the subsequent events which unfold are part of Allah's ongoing actions in the world.

It is imperative to comprehend that, as human beings, our understanding of the divine reality is limited. Our intellect and perception are confined by time and space, whereas Allah's existence surpasses these confines. Therefore, while we may grapple to fully grasp the simultaneous nature of Allah's eternal knowledge and ongoing actions, dismissing the question as preposterous is inappropriate. Comprehending the nature of Allah and His actions is a praiseworthy endeavour as long as it is undertaken with humility and reverence and adheres to the boundaries of Islamic teachings.

In conclusion, Allah's actions in the present moment are perpetual and encompass all facets of creation. While His creation and decree of all matters transpired in eternity, His ongoing actions can be perceived through His sustenance, response to supplication, and the unfolding of events following His divine wisdom. May Allah grant us knowledge and insight into His attributes and actions and guide us all to the righteous path.

And Allah knows best.
