Wa alaikum salaam wa rahmatullah,

Jazak Allah Khairan for you question. May Allah reward you and increase you in sacred knowledge. The word Halal refers to that which is allowed in the sacred law. That said, despite something being allowed it is not necessary ideal. An example of this is eating meat that comes from factories who have very unjust conditions regarding their treatment of the animals.

Thus if an animal is confined to a very small cage and never allowed to walk around, is injected with hormones, is slaughtered in a place where the animal can perceive the danger due to other animals being slaughter in front of them - this animal, if it is slaughtered by a Muslim with a sharp object and 3 out of the 4 vessels in the neck are cut - is Halal; but it is not Tayyib.

Tayyib would be that which is not merely allowed by the letter of the sacred law but also uphold the spirit of the law: in this case the just and humane treatment of the animal, the calming of the animal before the slaughter, the slaughter with a sharp blade that is concealed until the exact moment of the cutting, etc... This is not only Halal (allowed) but Tayyib (wholesome, pure) as well.

Hope this helps
Allah knows best
